For its size, Cheyenne’s restaurant scene offers as wide a range of dining options as you’d expect to find in larger cities.  From some of the West’s best Steak Houses to Asian, from Mexican to Italian to Breweries, everyone will find something to satisfy their tastes and budget. Governor’s Home Dining Recommendations –

 We’ve assembled a short list of dining options here than are not far from Governor’s Home. 

Get your day off to a great start with these breakfast favorites all a short distance away from Governor’s Home:

Down Home Diner.  A few minutes further minute drive from Luxury Diner on Lincolnway.  As the name says, enjoy  down home service and inexpensive breakfast options in a classic local roadside diner.

T-Joe’s Steakhouse & Saloon. Located on a service road along I-80 and 15 minute drive from Governor’s Home, T-Joe’s is named after a Rodeo legend who died in a tragic plane crash in 1965. Western themed with a saloon, wide menu catering to all tastes.  https://tjoessteakhouse.com/

Little Bear Inn. Located on a service road along I-25 and 10 – 15 minute drive from Governor’s Home, Little Bear Inn has in been in business since 1958.  With a Surf & Turf menu, bar and unique interior with (you guessed it) a bear (not live) inside the entrance, it’s another Cheyenne unique dining experience .  http://littlebearcheyenne.com/

Sanford’s Grub & Pub.  If you are looking for a great menu selection of Burgers ( beef or Bison), steaks, sandwiches, salads combined with live music, vintage memorabilia decor and a bar with possibly the largest selections of beer in Wyoming, you have come to the right place.  https://www.thegrubandpub.com/

2 Door’s Down.  Another downtown favorite with Burgers  sandwiches, and salads with seasonal outdoor seating on 17th street right across from Sanford’s. https://www.2doorsdown.net/

The Metropolitan.  Only about a 10 – 15 minute walk from Governor’s Home, ‘The Met’ offers a Chef designed menu offering a wide range of options for every taste, bar and seasonal outside seating. Also entertainment events on occasion. A bit more polished then other restaurants you will find in Cheyenne yet still affordable. https://www.themetdowntown.com/

Bella Fuoco Woodfired Pizza.  Probably the best Pizza in all of Cheyenne, Bella Fuoco is located about a 10 minute walk from Governor’s Home.  They also have a garden patio with service, takeaway and a menu that includes salads, paninis and wine.   https://bellafuocopizza.com/

Napoli’s.  Only about a 10 – 15 minute walk from Governor’s Home, Napoli offers the best in Italian in Cheyenne (more authentic than ‘Italian’ restaurants in Denver and other cities)  with a commendable wine list and bar. Housed in an Art Deco building with seasonal outside dining. A favorite of ours.

Hambone’s Pizza –  Takeaway and delivery Pizza. When you want to escape the chains and just relax with a good Wyoming pizza. On Lincolnway downtown – no seating so better to just have it delivered.https://www.hambonespizza.com/

Cheyenne has multiple Asian restaurants serving flavorful cuisine from every major Asian country.  Here are just a few :

Thai:  

Anong’s – as good Thai as you will find anywhere in the US. A 15 minute drive over the train terminal on Central avenue in the direction of I-80.

Chinese & Vietnamese:

Dynasty Cafe – casual dining offering dine-in, take-out and delivery. 15 minute walk from Governor’s Home.

Indian & Nepalese:

Taco John’s – Yes it is a chain, and a bit on the fast food side but it started in Cheyenne ( the headquarters is still less than a mile away) and made to order from fresh ingredients. Other Choices:  You’ll find many of the familiar national chains on Del Ray Avenue ( just past the national guard airbase and airport) or Hacienda Guadalajara off Lincolnway downtown. 

 

 

 

Just as in Colorado and other western states, there’s a growing number of micro brews and pubs in Cheyenne.  Here’s a few within walking distance ( 10 – 15 minutes) from Governor’s Home. All offer a great variety of local and regional micro brews.
